HISTORY
Located in the South West area of France, right bank of the Garonne, Chateau Labastide Orliac dates back to the 18th century when the domaine was among a select number of wine purveyors of the court of Louis XVI. The domaine has been continuously owned and managed by the Orliac family for over 7 generations. Today, sisters Catherine & Isabelle Orliac run the 23-acre estate carrying on traditional wine making practices and incorporating a judicial use of technology.

SURFACE & SOIL
The Brulhois region has been recognized when it obtained in 2011 its Appellation d'Origine Protegee under the name AOP Brulhois. All along the years, no pesticides or chemicals are used in the vineyards. The Merlot grapes are planted in deep clay soil that has the same structure as the one of Pomerol. The small 12 acres vineyard produces concentrated grapes thanks to a very low yield.

GRAPE VARIETALS
40% Merlot
40% Cabernet Franc
20% Tannat

VINIFICATION
Exclusively hand harvested, the wine has a similar varietal composition than Royal Heritage but from younger vines. Also, the years when Royal Heritage is not produced, its
grapes are used to make Le Prince. The wine is aged in half muids, one wine, two wines & three wines during 12 months.

TASTING NOTES
The wine shows a deep ruby or Crimson color. The nose expresses flavors of dark fruits, plum and leather while aromas of dark chocolate and spicy notes appear on
the palate. The silky tannins give a impression of softness and character in the same time.
We recommend to decant this wine before serving for a more memorable experience.
