Joseph Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon blend is created during the barrel blending process of French and neutral oak. This 75% Estate hand harvested cabernet has a style to it that shadows our wine growing and winemaking efforts. With this single unique 12 acre estate vineyard in the Calistoga AVA, the amazingly excellence of mature fruit ripened from our vines planted in 1992 entices this Cellar Select Blend.

Vintage 2010

The 2010 growing season in Napa Valley began cool and wet, and by early summer winemakers knew harvest would be late by as much as three weeks. Many thinned their crops and leaves to focus on ripening the grapes they had, but that backfired when a late August heat wave sent the temperatures from the mid-70s to 110 or higher in some spots. Once harvest began, vintners were selective about what they picked, usually making multiple passes through vineyards, and then turned to sorting tables to remove sunburned or raisin-style grapes. Tasting Notes

Aromatic with notes of fresh roasted coffee, violets and cedar; following with rich creamy mouth feel, soft tannins and a lingering finish with hints at mocha. A long cool 2010 vintage growing season created a texture that is dense with richness and flavor, setting a stage for layers of black briar fruit, black plum, cinnamon and an extended ­finish underscored by soft tobacco and light chocolate. To be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years.
