Another solid year of sun, heat and consistent weather since 2012 makes for intense or elegant wines, depending upon your style. I tend to favor elegance and intensity with restraint. 2015 offered high-quality fruit across the region and I’m very happy with the result. Several vineyards were used across the Sonoma County appellation for this wine. Trying to find the right balance in harvest dates, varietals, and terroir to form the right blend. Sourced from Russian River and Sonoma Valley. As everyone seems to agree, Pinot Noir is not always the easiest to work with. By having the option to blend from several sources across the entire county, I believe that my 2015 Pinot has the right mix of weight, balance, and fruit to drink all year long. The longer barrel time lends character to what feels like a young wine to me, yet easy to approach.
