A complex and seductive nose offering layers of fruit: golden delicious apple, white peach, feijoa, and orange marmalade. Alongside this come hints of macadamia nut, peanut skin, baking spices, and sweeter undertones of dulce de leche and white chocolate. This varietal is planted along the Santa Ynez River bed, very near the wet cobblestone rocks, which lends itself to a chalky, mineral driven texture. The wine has great poise, tension, and length, built for approachability, yet with longevity for those who will be rewarded with cellaring. Aged for 10 months in 100% French oak, none of which is new. Technical Information: Soil Types: Mocho Loam - this sandy, alluvial soil is fine-grained, fertile and deposited by water flowing from the Santa Ynez River. Due to their sandy nature, there is little water retention in these soils which creates higher aromatics and density in the fruit. Harvest Dates: Harvested in two passes, August 28th and September 10th Alcohol: 14.8% pH: 3.68 TA: 5 g/L Bottled: June 26th, 2017 Cases Produced: 235
