2017 Côte Bonneville Riesling In 1992 we planted DuBrul Vineyard in the Yakima Valley, Washington’s oldest appellation. Our experienced team and spectacular site consistently produce grapes with unique flavors and structure. Meticulously cared for, DuBrul Vineyard was named “Vineyard of the Year” by SEATTLE Magazine in 2007 and again in 2009. Côte Bonneville was founded in 2001 to create wines that best express our spectacular site each vintage year. By combining traditional winemaking techniques with cutting-edge science, we craft estate-grown grapes into world-class wines. Tasting Notes Key lime, white peach, apricot, and jasmine tea are some of the complex fruit and floral elements that make this Spätlese style Riesling so unique! It’s juicy, mouthwatering, and has a lip smacking finish that will have you reaching for more. Sip on its own and serve with wild duck sausages, pork loin, or lemon meringue pie. Soils High on a wind swept plateau above the Yakima River, DuBrul’s Riesling vines struggle in shallow Scoon silt loam soils. Formed in loess, the soils rest on sand, gravel, and rocks over basalt. Available water capacity is low. These vines, planted in 1983, are some of the oldest in Washington State. Yet the trunks are small, testifying to the severe growing conditions. Small berries, small clusters, and small yields make powerful Riesling in any presentation.
